T I H A R ^ ^

                   T I H A R   2 K 7 5

Tihar, a festival which celebrates the bond between brother & sister , fills our faded life with colors of energy & motivation & shades light of happiness & togetherness. Deusi & Bhailo makes Tihar even more auspicious. Maybe the lights of Tihar not only kill the darkness of the day but also the darkness & negative thoughts from people's hearts & minds. Welcoming Laxmi through decorated Rangoli & lightened house also strengthens the faith of people on themselves thinking that they have the presence of Laxmi in their house.

This year too we enjoyed our Tihar but at a different place. My sister & I had hard time preparing Rangoli but it somehow turned out pretty good. Thanks to our hard work!!  Since we don"t have pet dog & we usually don't feed crow.

First two days were like usual days but the third day felt comparatively different. The sound of firecrackers could be heard in split seconds. People from all age groups  were found to be playing Deusi & Bhailo which made the environment more auspicious.

Bhai Tika was even more better since we had lots of relatives this year around. Even though I have only a younger sister as sibling, it still doesn't bring much change for us as we put seven colored Tika on each others forehead each year. As past two years, this year too my sister & i dressed up in our cultural dress, Rai dress which actually is a gift from our Phupus we received when we went to our village two years back. As we have been unable to visit our village we usually end up wearing this gift so that their love & care remains with us even if we are apart in distance.

Travel Diaries

Day 1(KATHMANDU TO GORKHA & BANDIRPUR) “ Broad, wholesome, charitable views  of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all of one’s lifetime.” Every once and a while, we as an individual try & spare some time from our busy lives & let go of that wanderlust. Considering this point, we 9 th graders of Jagat Mandir Higher Secondary School would like to kindly share our small yet adventurous experiences which still hold our breaths & hold us captivated ever since 26 th Mangsir 2074(Wednesday). Early in the dawn maybe at 6:30 am we students gathered together at our school’s ground with stuffed bags & hearts full of doubts & suspense. Neither of us knew how this journey of ours will turn out but little did we knew that we would find ourselves in a different place with different attitude. After having our breakfast, at 8:30 am we rushed towards the bus capturing ours seats & 5-hours-long bus travel start...

School, place where you learn to love, laugh & live

11 years ago when I first stood in front of the gate of Jagat Mandir School, I was new to the school, the classes, teachers & classmates. As the time started to flow, I slowly became close my classmates, my seniors, my juniors & teachers with whom I created millions of small little memories which are still with me.  Now as I look back in time to 11 years of my life growing from a small, innocent & immature 5 year old kid to a young, independent & reckless 16 year old girl, I see myself going through lots of ups & downs, learning from my mistakes & living my life without any stress, care freely. It feels like a dream to find myself outside JM, at home sitting in front my desktop writing this blog about my experience at JM, remembering the memories of past 11 years. Speaking about my experience, I found JM to be more like home where you are loved but also scolded for your mistakes, a place every teenager would look for. School, a place you don’t f...
